This time, however, things took a different turn.
Tong Sui glanced at Jiang Hua beside him. In the original plot, he was depicted as a cold and merciless tool for missions, unshaken by the apocalypse. Yet, this very person was willing to share the supplies he risked his life to obtain, unconditionally, with these ordinary people who had no powers.
From a certain perspective, this behavior could even be seen as foolishly kind-hearted.
Tong Sui did not see it that way. Every life deserves respect. If the materials necessary for survival became a means of profit, it would indirectly snatch away the lives of others.
Noticing Tong Sui’s gaze, Jiang Hua turned his head. His blue eyes appeared even more tranquil and distant under the night sky, like a deep ocean. “Tired?”
“No.”
Tong Sui’s coat was a bit large, and with his hand covered by the sleeve, he gently hooked Jiang Hua’s finger with his own.
“Tonight’s event was great.”
Jiang Hua had heard countless praises, complimenting him for completing his tasks flawlessly. Yet, none of the gratitude from those who cried and thanked him left any impression in his heart. It was only the gentle pull of Tong Sui’s fingertips and the slight coolness of his touch that seemed to resonate directly in his heart.
Suddenly, he felt that everything held meaning.
He even wanted to draw Tong Sui in again, to hold his hand and leave his mark on that fair skin with his sharp teeth.
But now was not the best choice.
There were too many people around; if he really did that, the shy nature of Tong Sui would surely cause him to panic and blush, with tears glistening on his eyelashes.
Thinking this, Jiang Hua’s gaze deepened.
He restrained himself and opened his hand, holding Tong Sui’s palm in return. His hand was large, with long, defined fingers, easily enveloping Tong Sui’s hand completely.
Jiang Hua stroked the delicate skin on the inside of his wrist.
Having used various firearms and cold weapons for years, his palms and knuckles were covered with a thin callus, causing Tong Sui’s ears to redden slightly from the rubbing.
Tong Sui wanted to pull his hand back, but he was firmly held by Jiang Hua’s just-right grip.
Feeling somewhat uneasy, Tong Sui raised his head and silently scrutinized the people around them. Fortunately, the line of people waiting for supplies was long, and the team members were busy distributing items, completely unaware of their presence.
Tong Sui let out a small sigh of relief in his heart.
He then heard Jiang Hua lean in closer, his voice low as he asked, “Can I ask for a reward?”
A reward?
Tong Sui was momentarily stunned, only to feel Jiang Hua’s hand wrap around his waist, half-dragging and half-hugging him back into the off-road vehicle.
The door closed softly behind them.
The subtle sound snapped Tong Sui back to reality, and he suddenly realized that this was an absolutely private space for just the two of them.
Jiang Hua leaned closer, and Tong Sui hurriedly raised his hand to cover his face.
“There are so many people outside.”
What if someone suddenly wanted to get in and take something? They would see what was happening…
Tong Sui’s body tensed nervously, even though he leaned against the car seat, he felt stiff like a sculpture.
Suddenly, there was a click.
Jiang Hua had locked the car door, his heavy gaze fixed on him, the emotions in his eyes resembling a deep black hole, containing terrifying energy.
Tong Sui felt even more flustered.
Jiang Hua moved in closer again.
His knee pressed against the car seat, sinking slightly, forcing Tong Sui’s legs, which he had instinctively kept together, to move apart a little.
As Jiang Hua leaned in, his body weight shifted onto the seat, and his knee sank inward a bit more.
Tong Sui’s cheeks turned crimson.
Jiang Hua’s leg was a little too close…
It strangely made him feel a mix of invasion and embarrassment, as if his territory was being violated without permission.
He was trapped in this small space, unable to evade or escape.
Tong Sui lowered his slightly heated eyelids, even the fingertips he used to cover his face trembled slightly.
Jiang Hua gently kissed his fingertips, soft and delicate pecks that warmed them up.
Yet, feeling insufficient, he raised his hand, pushing the sleeve that covered the back half of Tong Sui’s hand up to his elbow, exposing his forearm completely.
Having spent this time locked in the laboratory and not seeing the sun for long, Tong Sui’s skin was as pale as snow, with joints tinged with a soft pink hue.
Jiang Hua took a deep breath, his warm breath brushing against Tong Sui’s arm.
Tong Sui nervously curled his fingers.
Jiang Hua, however, insisted on parting his fingers to kiss his palm, displaying an extraordinary level of patience and tenacity.
Tong Sui resisted for a moment but silently gave up.
He had to admit that even though he could skillfully manipulate the instruments in the laboratory and handle weight precisely, he was left trembling before Jiang Hua.
As Tong Sui began to feel as if his hands did not belong to him, Jiang Hua finally lifted his head.
In the dark environment, his eyes were as dark as ink, and he slightly pursed his lips, as if all the earlier intimate actions were merely formalities before the actual move began.
Jiang Hua certainly would not let it end there; he leaned closer once more.
His arm rested against the car window, and the moonlight outside streamed in, illuminating the muscular lines of his arm.
Tong Sui instinctively closed his eyes.
That familiar cold, fragrant scent enveloped him, and he felt a slight heat on his lips.
His heart raced uncontrollably, beating faster.
Even though Tong Sui had spent a long time in this car, there had been other people present, and they hadn’t engaged in any particularly intimate actions during the ride.
Let alone something like today…
Dazed, Tong Sui allowed Jiang Hua to kiss him, contrasting with his increasingly muddled thoughts; Jiang Hua appeared much more energetic and excited.
